What Is Trinity College London?

Trinity College London is a UK-based examinations board that has assessed communication and performance skills since 1877. Its Communication Skills qualification is recognised internationally as a credible benchmark of a young person's spoken English, presence, and presentation ability.

Ebright is one of the very few centres in Malaysia approved to deliver Trinity preparation. Students who sit the exam earn an independent international certificate — the kind that strengthens scholarship applications, school portfolios and entrance interviews.

The Eight Grades

Progression at Every Stage

Trinity Communication Skills runs from Grade 1 (Initial level) to Grade 8 (advanced). Students enter at the level that matches their age and ability — and progress one grade at a time.

FOUNDATION · GRADES 1–2

Initial & Grade 1

For our youngest learners. Confidence in front of an examiner, clear pronunciation, and a short prepared performance piece.

EARLY · GRADES 3–4

Grades 2 & 3

Discussions about hobbies and personal experiences. Eye contact, vocal projection, and the start of structured speaking.

CORE · GRADE 5

Grade 4 & 5

Topic talks of 3–5 minutes. Visual aids, audience interaction, and structured argument. The level at which our student Chee Hui won High Scorer + Distinction.

INTERMEDIATE · GRADE 6

Grade 6

Persuasive speeches and longer prepared topics. Students respond to listener questions and sustain longer interactions.

ADVANCED · GRADE 7

Grade 7

Formal presentations, professional registers, and the ability to develop an argument under examiner challenge.

EXPERT · GRADE 8

Grade 8

Top-tier. Persuasion, debate, public speaking, and impromptu Q&A — equivalent to mature, professional communication standards.

One-to-One Trinity Coaching

Trinity preparation at Ebright is delivered as one-to-one training — separate from the weekly group classes. Sessions are tailored exactly to the student's grade, the examiner's criteria, and the student's chosen topics.
